I know the title is a little bit hard but I wanted to show you the differences between my expectations from Sweden and what I found. Going to Sweden was very exciting for me ’cause it was my first travel to Europe. When the flying day came my cheeks were burning ’cause of my limitless smiles, I was like “lets go Sweden!” but, of course it wasn’t like my thoughts… We boarded the plane and started our short trip. After eating some food and watching a short tv show, we arrived to Istanbul. After an hour, we joined Gothenburg flight. You are going the see overview of Gothenburg at the end of the 3 hours flight. My first thought was that wild life still goes on here. You can’t see almost anything without green forests. Especially, if we compare the overview of Istanbul or Ankara with Gothenburg’s, Gothenburg was like a dream for me.

When we got off the plane, we felt the cold weather on our skins. After we got off the plane our first job was renting a car. What’s famous car brand in Sweden ? Of course, Volvo. We rent the car and went to the hotel. Everywhere was green and full of calmness. After an half hour trip, we arrived to the hotel. Rooms of the hotel were small, but the place was like the house of calmness. Day and night every street was so quiet, even at rush hours.Only one day some girls, who leave from church, made noise.Except for these girls, city was like an old man. First day, we broke the silence of the city a little and walked around the hotel. As you know currency of Sweden crone was too unworthy. For this reason, I didn’t think about the money until I gave 200 Turkish liras to a LAHMACUN. Yes, it was only one LAHMACUN. After my visit to Sweden, I have realized that the important thing is not the currency, it is the minimum wage of the country. The minimum wage of Sweden is equaled to 7000 Turkish liras which mean 7x of Turkish minimum wage. As you see, my little student budget wasn’t enough . Fortunately, it was a family trip.

The one thing that made me surprised was salespersons was so cheerful. The attention to the customer was worth to see. After a little shop, we went to the hotel. While I was on the road, I was looking to the historical structures. As I saw everybody put lamp in front of their window and they open them everynight. This sparkling view was fascinating also if you have a little interest in vikings you can understand that this tradition comes from them.

Although I didn’t like prices, if you want to have some calm days you can go Sweden in spring. I said in spring because after spring, streets get crazy. Have fun!

p.s. Natives love flowers so you can find a lot of brilliant flower seed in here. You can see pics near this paragraph..
